Nigeria’s Odion Ighalo and highest goal scorer in the just concluded African Cup of Nations has joined Mikel Obi to announce his retirement from the Super Eagles.
The Nigerian striker who plays for a Chinese club made the announcement on his social media page (Twitter).
He said it is now time for him to concentrate on the international club and give the younger players a chance to grow.

In his tweet, he thanked the NFF and the Super Eagles Coach, Gernot Rohr for believing in him.
Ighalo emerged highest goal scorer the qualifiers and as well as the African Cup of Nations 2019, helping Nigeria to a third position and picking up the Bronze.
He also won the golden boot with five goals.
