Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos is seen as public enemy No 1 to many for his role in Mohamed Salah’s night-ending injury during the Champions League final on May 26.
This has been worsened further following claims that Loris Karius suffered concussion during the Kiev showpiece after a collision with Ramos too – something the latter has denied with sarcastic undertones.
And it is those undertones that have resulted in Wycombe Wanderers striker Adebayo Akinfenwa to send a light-hearted warning to the Spaniard.
Akinfenwa, who is a Liverpool fan, took to Twitter on Wednesday to make his feelings known.
‘Don’t worry Liverpool FC I will always have your back. #YNWA #WeInThisTogether #SometimesYouHave2Smile #BeastMode,’ he tweeted alongside a video.
‘So it’s been a week since the Champions League final and I’ve just got back from holiday,’ the 36-year-old said.
‘Sergio Ramos, not only did you take out my man Mo Salah, but now I’m hearing you put Karius in concussion.
‘Look brother, I’m never going to play against you because I’m never going to make it to the Champions League, but you’re lucky.’
He ended the video by crunching a boot and Akinfenwa’s reply was met with great support by Liverpool fans on Twitter afterwards.
‘HAHAHA my guy Liverpool need to sign you up,’ wrote @JakeFutboI while @bonquixote commented ‘Lmao. Make this man the first non LFC player to be made club ambassador.’
@NabyRole simply tweeted: ‘@LFC announce Akinfenwa.’
Ramos and Akinfenwa are unlikely to ever cross paths on the football pitch but if they did, the former has been warned by the man known as ‘The Beast.’
